That's right, Boys Will Be Boys and what I love about my life is that I get to be here and watch them being boys.
Back a few years ago I didn't have this kind of freedom. I was running my own General Contracting business and doing very well. The problem was I was working 80 to 100 hours per week. I was making bank but never got to see my kids or spend any time with my wife.
We were not living the life we would have chosen for ourselves.
We planned to raise our own kids, make our own mistakes.
We wanted to know our kids.
To look at them and just be able to see the little mirrors of us they would become and not the mirrors of someone we paid to raise them.
So we did something drastic. We got into a home based business. My wife, Kelli did actually. One day Kelli found a great business to get into and she did. She didn’t call me to check. She didn’t ask me if it was a good idea. She just pulled out her credit card and got started.
Three or four days later she told me about it. It’s funny, I asked her why she didn’t talk with me before she did it? Kelli said, “I was afraid you would have some really good reasons not to do it and I listen and not do this. She said she couldn’t let that happen, because this business was gong to bring me home where I belonged, with her and the boys.
Well, what could I say? With tears in my eyes and love in my heart, I said, “you go girl, bring me home.”
Three months later I sat down with her and few partners and looked at what she got into and BANG!!! I knew she was right. I at that moment said, I want to do this with you. To make a long story short, about a year later we walked away from my contracting business and never looked back.
We built a great team and had a lot of fun living and working from the ranch and hanging out with the kids. That’s when it hit us. Let’s hit the road.
We sold our Los Angeles properties.
We sold all our things, mostly antiques. We figured we could buy new old stuff later, right?
We do love old stuff, so we bough a converted 1957 Greyhound Bus, filled it with what we wanted to take with us and hit the road. Everything we had was on the bus or in a 5X5 foot storage bin in Utah.
That was about 3 years ago. We have been around a lot of this country and our family has grown together in ways we never would have dreams.
We home school our kids, we like to call in UnSchooling. Every morning I wake up and I get to be with my kids. When they are done with unschool and we are done with our short work day at home, it’s off to the pool, hike, beach, bike ride, rollercoaster and wherever else we feel like going.
It hasn’t all been easy but it has all been rewarding.
We live the life we chose and our kids understand what it means to have two parents and follow your heart, your dreams.
We are now planning on heading back out west early next year. We are going to set up a US based place to call home that the boys can have roots in. Then we plan to travel internationally for a good 5 months of the year and really see this world. For me Happiness=Excitement.
It’s funny though, when we tell people what we are doing, a lot of them say, “I’ve always wanted to do that.” My standard answer is, “well, you ain’t dead yet.” That is usually followed by the same hundred or so reasons they could never do it at this point. Their JOB, their Mortgage, Car Payment, Kids, Family Ties, The Money They make, Why People would think I was crazy, and so many more reasons. What’s funny is that most of the reasons they give for why they can’t are the very reasons we have why we did.
So, now let’s get down to the brass tacks.
Are you happy, really happy doing what you do? I believe we should build our life and then fit what we do to fund it into it and not the other way around.
Or are you like 80% of the people in this country and hate what they do?
Take back your life and stop being a slave to someone else’s.

This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart – as an ex-aerospace factory worker. Things don't work that way anymore.
I have seen some dramatic changes in the way we do business and subtle ones that are hardly discernible, which is what I want to talk about.
My concern is mainly how the kids are taught in school. Like Robert Kiyosaki mentions in Rich Dad Poor Dad “go to school, get a good education so you can get a good JOB”.
I am a big fan of Robert and Kim Kiyosaki because they see this and are doing every thing they can to get smart money teaching into the educational system.
No longer does the world economy need warm bodies to follow the planning and instructions, we have computers and robots for that. No longer are we required to save our money (assuming we could), because the family unit is so distant from the model that was used to create our current education system. Just rack up credit debt to buy stuff now and pay over time. Even buying a home, except for current times, was a no-brainer. As long as mom and dad made enough income the loan company approved it, even with a poor credit history.
What is required is a system build around creative planning that the kids themselves are involved in.
Just imagine: If you had the chance to submit your 2 cents as to how your school was performing and offering you the challenging classes, and they then took that data, restructured the curriculum for the next term, what performance would you see in your grades and those of your peers?
It is a Continuing Improvement System. Let the kids have a say in what they want to be and do when they get out of school. Rather than be dictated to from an antiquated educational system that assumes they will be working 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day and 2 weeks for vacation.
Teach ENTREPRENUERISM
and the world could soon very well be recovering from pollution, war and disease which is the world we have made for our children. What kind of crap is that?
So, in summary, we watch anxiously as the world economy tries to get a grip on itself. It is comforting to me to know that my son has has this drip fed to him his whole life.
I am confident that he has a good understanding of what the world should require of him and he can make intelligent choices.

It's like asking me what do I want to be when I grow up, I have no idea since I have not done everything yet.
I once saw a someone ask a young 6 year old if she could play the violin.
Her respnse was “I don't know I havent tried yet”
SO don't let your INNER voice tell you what you can or cannot do, it does NOT KNOW until you try.
The awesome people I have around me know this and encourage the little child to explore, like learning to ride a bike.
