Why Is The Other Guy Earning Money And You Aren’t?

cash

If you are having problems earning money on the Internet you may become frustrated. It's only natural to look at people who are earning money and become envious of them.

However your time would be better spent if you were to step back and analyze why they are earning money and you are not. In many cases the reason is very simple.

People who earn money on the Internet have a reason why they have started an Internet business. This is a personal reason that motivates them to sit in front of their computer and work when they feel like watching TV.

It motivates him to educate themselves on becoming professional Internet marketers when they feel like going to bed and getting a good night's rest. It also motivates them to come home after a hard days work and sit down and promote their products online.

Usually the person who is earning the most money has sacrificed something to get to the point they are at. If you look at people who really are earning money online they did not get their overnight.

This can be both encouraging to you or it could be a real slap in the face. If you have not sacrificed something to build your Internet business you must ask the question, why not?

Developing Internet marketing skills is another important aspect of earning money online. Again this takes some sacrificing on your part as none of us are born Internet marketers.

If you will develop the skills, and sacrifice everything it takes to become successful, you too can earn money just like the other guy.

3 Tips to Leverage Your Blog

rss_iconI’m a big fan of blogs and the way they help you leverage online visibility.

Unlike social media sites, a blog is your piece of cyber real estate, and no one can deactivate your account or suddenly change the terms of service on you. You own it and with that power comes the opportunity to direct how to leverage your blog for maximum results.
When used in conjunction with a strong social media presence, your blog can serve as a powerful tool to drive traffic, establish you as an authority, and bring new opportunities your way.

Here are 3 quick and easy tips you can start using today to get more traffic and visibility for your blog:

1. Import your blog to your Social Media Sites

Most social media sites like Facebook and Linked In allow you an option to import your blog so it automatically updates on multiple sites with no additional effort on your part. In Facebook, you simply go to “Notes” and import your blog from there. (You will need to know your blog’s RSS feed to do that). On other sites, you’ll look for an icon of your blog’s platform, such as WordPress, TypePad, or Blogger. Click that, enter your user information, and the rest is done for you.

2. Tweet your Posts

Links to blog posts (especially when they have great titles!) are an excellent way to bring traffic and provide great content for your followers. Next time you post on your blog, be sure to let your Tweeps know and provide an easy link to click on. You can automate this action also with a number of services. My favorites are HootSuite , Twitterfeed,  and SocialOomph (formerly TweetLater)

3. Invite guest writers

This tip merits an entire post (if not an intensive class) because it holds so much potential. The more your blog publishes, the more traffic you’ll get, especially when the content is rich with great keywords and consistent topics. Consider opening up your blog to include posts by other writers. They can fill in on the days you need a break. When you add the efforts of others, it leverages your time, visibility AND keeps the traffic flowing 7 days a week!

Your blog holds great potential, especially with the easy ways to leverage it with social media. There are many more things I can add to this list, but I wanted to give you a couple of easy to quick start action steps so you can begin enjoying increased visibility with less effort.

If you'd like to add more leverage tips or chime in on how any of these 3 strategies are working for you, please drop a comment!

Online Video Tip: How to Look and Act Like a Pro

by Lou Bortone, Guest Blogger

YouTube, the Wal-Mart of Video hosting sites, is now the fourth most visited website on the Internet, with a staggering 85 million viewers. If you’re going to use online video to promote your business (and you should), then you might as well look good doing it! After all, your video is part of your image and your brand.

But what if you’re having a bad hair day, or you don’t know what to wear? Fear not! Here are the top tips for looking like a pro when you’re ready to fire up that webcam or camcorder:

Can you hear me now?

Nothing derails an otherwise good video like bad audio. We’ve got to be able to hear you! Run a couple of tests and make sure your volume is adequate. (And try to avoid crying kids or barking beagles in the background!)

Got a light?

Or a few lights are even better. Be sure that you’ve got enough light, and that the light source is coming from in front of you. Never shoot into the light. You don’t need a big lighting rig, just be sure that your face is lit well enough to be seen!

Whose got your back?

Be aware of your background. What is behind you in the shot? Be sure that your “environment” and background setting is clean, uncluttered and not distracting. A neutral background or office setting is best – Outdoors is fine, too, as long as there’s not too much going on in the shot.

Ready for your close up?

Do a few test runs. Rehearse. Relax. Get comfortable. Like anything new, the more you practice, the better you’ll get. Be yourself. Make eye contact and think of it as if you’re talking to a friend. It takes a bit of getting used to, so feel free to do a few takes. Don't stress over what to wear or your hair. Just dress as you would going to a meeting.

What’s shakin’?

Hopefully not the camera! Even if your camera person (okay, your spouse) has a steady hand, it’s really hard to hold the camera still any length of time. This is easily remedied with a small camera tripod. Just set it up and it’s steady as she goes. This makes a big difference!

You may be a little camera shy or self-conscious at first, but a few test runs and you should be good to go! Give it a try. You don’t have to post your video for millions to see until you’re happy with it! But remember, done is better than perfect!
